FOR WATER BASED DIGS:
We suggest closed-toed shoes (NO CROCS OR SANDALS).
Easy, light clothing with quick dry capabilities. Long sleeves and light pants are preferred over shorts and a t-shirt for sun protection.
We suggest a towel for after the tour.
If it's chilly, wetsuits are suggested. We have a limited supply for rent as well. If a wetsuit is needed, please arrive 45 minutes prior, as it is first-come-first-serve.
Headwear and sunglasses are helpful to combat the hot sun. Sunscreen is also helpful.
FOR LAND DIGS:
Gardening gloves are helpful, but not required. We have some for sale as well.
Sandals are ok, tighter fitting shoes fit for shoveling are better.
Lots of sun protection. Same as above.
In short, whatever you can carry along with the equipment we disperse. Small coolers and backpacks are good. Bring lots of waters! Chairs in some instances are OK, but there are usually places to sit on each tour.
If you book a tour in the river or creek-YES! Dress appropriately; water levels can vary from ankle deep to chest deep.
Of course! You keep all that you find- and the guides often contribute the bulk of their finds as well.
It's helpful to bring some ziplock bags for your finds to go home in as well; during the tour we provide carrying bags for transporting your finds from the site to the tables at the end.
