Solomon's Castle
On the country roads northwest of Arcadia, Howard Solomon, who died in 2016, created a gleaming three story castle that pops up out of the Florida wilderness. It's a castle sheathed with shiny silver colored metal printing plates salvaged from a newspaper business, complete with large turrets, 90 stained glass windows and even an inn and restaurant!

Stately live oaks, bald cypress and riparian woodlands shelter a diverse panorama of wildlife...not to mention all the riverside flora and fauna that you'd come to expect.
Brownville Park
Brownville Park & Boat Ramp offers a convenient boat ramp to launch your kayak, canoe, or boat. Many kayakers and canoeists paddle north, up the picturesque Peace River, then turn around for a lazy tranquil float back.
The fossil beds of the Peace River are world famous for significant paleontological finds. This is a great place to walk-in and try your luck for some fossiling.
This beautiful floodplain forest evokes the sense of real Old Time Florida.” In the center of the sweet gums and hickory bay heads is a beautiful live oak hammock. In the late evenings barred owls gather in these ancient oaks and perform an owl opera.
Nestled beneath the antique oaks are campsites available for all.
Peace River Oaks
Our partner site in Bowling Green! Join us here for a canoe dig, a walk-in dig and more. The site is the perfect place to relax and unwind, with options of hot tubs in the glamping tents, full and meticulous amenities with full luxuries and more. The sites are nicely spaced out so you don’t feel like you are on top of your neighbor. ATV trails, a beautiful walking trail, nighttime movies with a huge projector screen, hay rides, food and more. It's a no-brainer.
Peace River Campground
Peace River Campground is a family-owned and operated destination designed for families who cherish fun and the great outdoors. Situated along the Peace River in Arcadia, Florida, we provide an ideal setting for outdoor adventures and family enjoyment.
Peace River Campground boasts a mile of scenic riverfront along the Peace River. Offering a genuine camping experience across 160 acres with ample primitive camping options. Facilities include 225 full hookup sites with 50/30/20 amp connections, capable of accommodating large RVs. We also feature the “Buddy Site,” where up to 4 RVs can camp together in a group.
Campers are welcome to use 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, and golf carts within the campground, but dirt bikes are not allowed.
There is good fossil hunting on-site in the river as well. There is a fully stocked camp store is open daily at 8 am.
Pioneer Park
This 115 acre county owned park offers 62 grassy campsites. There is a museum, wildlife refuge, hiking trails, a boat ramp to the Peace River, fossiling and fishing.
A great place to spend the day picnicking, or hold a family function (birthday party, easter egg hunt, holiday barbecue); the park is well kept and a great place to hold your next celebration or event.
There are fees for camping, the museum and the animal sanctuary. General access is free.
Hardee Lakes Park
Spanning approximately 1200 acres, HLP has horse trails, hiking trails, handicap-accessible hiking trails, and bike trails. There are 3 restrooms located throughout the park. The restrooms in the camping areas also have shower facilities available.
There are also picnic areas, a picnic pavilion, and a playground available. The park includes a boardwalk that winds around the lakes and through the woods, with an observation tower where people can watch wildlife. A great option if you're staying in our Northern locations.
The Arcadia Opera House
A must-see! Built in 1906, the Opera House is now a museum, enormous antique shop, and even houses live music in the theater. It houses an amazing collection of historical items and the theater is in near original condition. Several paranormal investigations have taken place there and the Opera House is a well known haunted location.
